His works are best described as paintings of inconvenient places. Places he chooses intuitively. He explores his own experience of the place, concrete stories of others about it, and the materiality of the place. How does these three views relate to each other? In recent years, the emphasis in this research has been on places where the intertwining of nature and culture is clearly visible. In his works questions about remembrance are implied. Like reality, most works contain multiple narratives. Often narratives are juxtaposed in his works.
